Mary has been going out with Tom since they were in college, and it has already been five years now. Whenever her families and friends asked about when they were going to marry, Mary felt very embarrassed. She is no longer young and it's time for her to marry, most of her friend has been married except her. For many times she thought Tom was going to propose, she was just disappointed. She even gave him some hints on purpose for several times, but he never seemed to get it or he just pretended to not get it, on the contrary, Tom always told her it was not time for them to marry and he needed some time to get fully prepared. Maybe he was just making excuses. In the end, Mary had to give up even though she still wanted to get married very much.

Several days before Valentine's Day, Tom told Mary that they were going to watch a movie on February 13th. Another movie, every Valentine's Day they just go out to watch a movie. Mary felt disappointed it seemed that their life had already become a married couple's life, only that they did not have that piece of paper.

In the afternoon on February 13th, Mary received a parcel from Tom; it was a very beautiful evening dress and the movie ticket. Mary was glad, after all besides movie, he had sent her a Valentine's Day gift which he did not do before. They were agreed to meet in front gate of the cinema, however, when Mary got there Tom called her that he was delayed by something at work and told her to go into by her own. It was really an annoying thing, he was the one who invited her and he was late! Mary went in, when she got seated, the music My Heart Will Go On which she loved most was played and there were photos of two lovers on the big screen, it was she and Tom. What was happening? And where was Tom? Mary could not even think and talk! Just as that moment, Tom in formal suit and tie went in with red roses in his hands. Mary could not even breathe, because Tom went towards her, he kneed down, he gave Mary the roses and there it was a shiny diamond ring. He begged her to marry him! With tears full of her eyes, she nodded her head, smiles and whispered "Yes, I do" the words which she had practiced for many times.

It was the proposal she had longed for years and the perfect one she could ever think about!

I put on the Ed Hardy coat and a red scarf, locked the door and got lost in the street. I had nothing in my mind about where to go, when to stop or when to get back.

The roses in the shops were sending out a message, the daintily wrapped chocolates, and the soft music coming from this shop. I pushed the door slightly and stepped in. There were only a few people there, picking and selecting.

I liked walking around in this small space, touched everything I saw, felt everything I could not see, forget everything regretful. It was so soft that I wanted to be taken away together with the singer's whisper.

The lyrics echoed in my heart, and my heart was beating to its melody. I did not have someone with me, or in my life, nor anywhere. I was trying to remember how long it had been. I got used to my life style, took the coat and got myself lost in this city.

I saw this shop owner collecting some documents and he did not pay any attention to me. How many people you would run into every day? How many of them would walk into your life? How many of them would just be strangers with whom you never talked? How many of them would give you hope and then take it away?

He was cute, cute enough to encourage me to start a conversation with him. He reminded me of something, the guy I have let go, the guy I was crazy about, was I ready to throw myself into another relationship?

He did not know I was staring at him. There were some similarities between this shop owner and Declan, especially when he frowned. Declan and I decided to end our relationship in a peaceful way and I appreciated what he had done for me, but if something was meant to be over, there was nothing you can do to bring it back.

His sharp eyes were so focused as if I did not exist, as if the world did not exist, as if the feelings did not exist. When the music was about to over, I looked at my watch, I picked something and went to him. He was a little bit shocked, while, I was crystal clear what I was doing:

"Hello, Declan. Long time no see."
"Hi, it is you! How are you doing since, since...?"
"Since you left? I am doing great. So, this is the shop you always wanted to have? It is cute; the song is beautiful, just like you."
"It's your favorite. How did you know I am here?"
"I did not know. The music sounds familiar so I came in. Look, I need to go; it is very nice to see you."

I got out of the shop before the tears ran down, I did not felt hurt, I did not felt anything, but my heart told a different story. There were couples anywhere in the street and I made this wrong decision again, coming out and exposing myself to a world of uncertainties. I turned back, took another look at him and when the music was over, I went on with my searching.
