Anyone who is not single enjoys the Valentine's Day, and anyone who is single cannot help but bear in their mind the possibility of running into love on this special occasion with another lingering soul. Unfortunately, I fall in the scope of the latter; luckily I am not too hopeful so as not to be pushed to the desperate edge when nothing is derived from the same occasion of ruthlessness which is particular to single people.

Like other single people, staying inside was not a desirable alterative for me. I summoned all the courage I needed and put on the coat together with my favorite high heels, and I started another exploration in this city.

People have changed, but the city has not, or just too little to be unrecognizable. The streets were full of lovers, some of them were hand in hand, some of them were beholding each other affectionately in their eyes, some of them were just walking with their chains up and a bunch of roses in their hands and some of them were opening their arms ready to embrace the happiness at hand.

However, only a few people, people like me, who thought the street was empty, the city was empty, the world was empty and our lives were incomplete, this state of mind was most obvious on the Valentine's Day, a day to celebrate, to reflect, to redefine love, and a day to bury the old, painful memories.

I used to have doubts about love, then I changed my perspective when I met this guy who convinced me by his deeds that love did exist around me, we had a Valentine's Day together. Later that year we ended up breaking up and once again my heart was clouded by the leftover of a love feast. I went back and forth, trying to fight for with all my efforts a normal life which was over brimmed with love.

The end of the road was approaching and the imagination was about to be over. I pretended to be brave and tough when I faced the forked crossroad, after all it was the most effective way to hold back the tears and the most direct way to persuasive you not to lose hope, that is what the longing of the empty heart taught me on that Valentine's Day.

Everyone will be surprised that Juliet is single, she is a beauty, a blond, with two eyes like Angelina Jolie, and how could she still be single. Well, the truth is she is more than being single all those years, but she has not has a serious relationship yet. Here is what is going on.

Her first boyfriend, in junior high, was a guy who was quite good but somehow he was relatively short to Juliet. She did not want to be seen with a guy who was shorter than her, so she broke up with him on their second date.

The second guy was a little bit luckier; he was a tall, considerate guy who happened to have a humble origin. This was something Juliet could not handle, she wanted a pair of Christian Louboutin as birthday gift and there was no way this poor guy could afford to buy one, so, their relationship was doomed. Anyway, Juliet was not sad as most other girls were when they ended a relationship, she was just selecting.

Juliet spoke highly of the third guy who occupied a certain place in her heart. The kind of guy who was nothing but perfect for a boyfriend, you know, cute, thoughtful, generous enough to spend tons of money on her, but something happened, something unbelievable. He dumped Juliet for another girl. For Christ's sake, they had only been saying each other for less than a month!

The fourth guy was rich but he upheld the principle of Dutch treat, he was not willing to pay Juliet's bill, he showed more respect to woman than he should. In his mind women were both financial independent and emotional independent. But Juliet did not feel flattered; instead, she cleared herself out.

The last guy who was titled Juliet's boyfriend was incredible. No one would disagree that he was a genius; he was a talented, successful salesman who was said to be the best in this city. However, she did not say yes when he proposed because she was not ready yet, she never lost the hope of looking for someone better who could meet all the requirements of her.

Now she is worrying now, she is aging and there is no man in her life she could count on. While, there was, there is, but he is not rich, tall, handsome, considerate, charming, talented, smart, witty, well educated.
